Giddy up, it’s Guineas Day!

Pierro scooted around Melbourne's tightest track, Moonee Valley, when an effortless winner of the Group 2 Stutt Stakes on 28 September. I was there to see him win this race hard held. He won’t lose on Saturday.

The winner of all his eight starts, Pierro goes into the Guineas the shortest-priced favourite since Tulloch in 1957 and Waterhouse said Pierro was deserving of comparisons with the horse renowned as Australia's greatest-ever three-year-old.

I think we have our next Black Caviar. He's a really, REALLY good horse.

Pierro will stretch his record to nine wins and close to $4 millon in prize money if he wins the Guineas, for which he is the $1.25 favourite with the TAB.

Let’s put him in a couple of multi-bets with the horse below.

Many Caulfield Cup hopefuls need to win Saturday’s Herbert Power Stakes to gain a start in next week’s Caulfield Cup.

Ironstein is the tip on track form the Gerald Ryan stable

I’m going with Mr O'Ceirin each way. He has been flying the last two starts and will go close to winning this. The pressure is on as most of these runners need to win to gain a start for the Caulfield Cup next week.

Happy punting!
