You'd better be quick if you'd like to throw your support behind a local business, with just one day left to vote in the Port Douglas Magazine 2012 Douglas Business Awards.

Almost 8,000 votes have been received from all over the world, an increase of more than 50 per cent from 2011, but voting closes at 5pm tomorrow night with finalists to be announced on Wednesday.

Winners will be declared at a gala event at Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas on 20 October.

Tickets are now on sale for the red carpet evening which includes Champagne and wine tasting, a three course meal by Sheraton Mirage's head chef Klaus Keller, complimentary beer, wine, and Champagne until 10.30pm, and of course, a great night of entertainment.
