The course was in great condition for last Tuesday’s Stableford event which was taken out in fine style by Bob Slade with 46 points. Second place was Wayne Soxsmith with 40 points, and third was Larry Smith with 39 points.

Nearest the pins were Paul Courtney on 6, Art Howard on 8, Bob on 10, Barry Brims on 13 and Bruce Cheesman on 17.

The winner of last Wednesday’s nine hole event was Ron Smith with 19 points on a count-back to Bob Laybutt and Helen Gabour. Nearest the pins were Steve Wheeler on 10 and Ron Smith on 13.

Thursday’s Ladies Par event was won by Trish Landy with +1, second place went to Jane Chidgey with -1 on a count-back to Ellen Clark. Nearest the pins were Glenda Christensen on 6, Ellen on 8 and Kerri-Lynn Williams on 10 and 13.

The winner of the Friday Frolic was Peter Santarossa with 22 points for 9 holes, ahead of Ed Sant on 21 points.

Perfect weather conditions on Saturday saw Bernie Boon win with 41 points ahead of Harvey Ashton with 38 points and Alan Harper with 37 points on a count-back to Bob Tyrrell and Maurie Meth.

Nearest the pins were Dennis Blake on 6, Bernie on 8, Wayne Dowell on 13 and Peter Chrisfield on 17.

The Ladies winner was Yvonne Bochow with 39 points on a count-back to Patti Graham and third place Shona Barbour with 38 points on a count-back to Trish Landy and Christie Bouwkamp.

Nearest the pins were Julie Hooker on 8, Trish on 13 and Patti on 17.

The FNQGA Men’s Pennant semi-finals were played on Sunday morning, with the visiting players enjoying perfect weather and playing conditions.

The Sunday Stableford event was won convincingly by John Cameron with 43 points and runner-up Shona Barbour with 36 points. Nearest the pins were Art Howard on 6, John Cameron on 8 and Shona on 17.
