Blue boys blast Tully
The Muddies Blue team headed down to Fuller Park not knowing anything about their Tully opposition but keen to follow on from their win the weekend before.
Once they arrived they were told this was a home game for the Muddies so with that in mind Skipper Simon Cody had the toss of the coin and won, deciding to follow the formula that runs on the board would put pressure on the Tully batsman.
Keith Taylor and Sam Hodgson opened the batting and were looking very comfortable until Taylor played all round one and was bowled for 4. Matt Chizzoriti didn’t trouble the scorers and was dismissed first ball caught behind. That left the Muddies Blue 2/13.
Gary Postans stepped up to the hat trick ball and with Tully crowding the bat played a great forward defensive block. Gary was dismissed for 10 being caught at slip to a very good catch.
Simon Cody was in next and was just wanting to hang around as Sam Hodgson started putting Tully to the test with two big sixes in consecutive balls. He went on to make 34 with a show of patience and great timing.
Muddies Blue were now 4/47 and looking shaky before Sam Jeffers and Simon Cody put on a 60 run partnership to steady the ship before Sam had a rush of blood when went for the big shot and was bowled for 27.
In came big hitting Adam Lucas who had been promoted to number 7 after his run a ball effort last week and he didn’t disappoint the team.

Simon Cody brought up 50 off 73 balls and the very next over Lucas bought up his 50 in 49 balls with six 4s and one 6. The pair put on 80 runs and left the Muddies Blue 6/187 with a foundation set.
The tailenders had some fun and went out blasting leaving the Muddies Blue all out for 212.
Like the game before the Muddies were given six overs at the end of the day to try and get the breakthrough and they did with Adam Lucas clean bowling their opener on four to leave Tully 1/10 off six overs.
The game will resume next Sunday at 1pm where the Muddies Blue will no doubt look for an outright win.
This is Captain Simon Cody logging off.
