Photo comp results music to winners' ears

Three stunning photographs have been recognised by judges and the voting public in October's Best Photo Competition.

Tom Van Kalken's 'Guitar' has taken the top position on the podium, managing to capture a moment in Port Douglas life. Tom has earned himself a $100 Garrick's Camera House voucher as well as $50 cash which he can choose to give to the busker who featured in his award winning photo...or not. Congratulations Tom.

In second place was Richard Hopper for 'Froggy Days'. Richard has won a magnificent stretched canvas 600 x 400mm valued at $120 thanks to Perrin at Imagebank Australia.

Perrin has been big supporter of The Newport's Best Photo Competition for a long time now so get down to his gallery in Wharf Street, Port Douglas or jump on the Imagebank Australia website.

Taking the bronze for October is Shay Bourne for 'Sunrise Birds'. Coles Supermarket Port Douglas, another great supporter of not only this competition but many community events, has stumped up an Italian recipe book and MasterChef apron.

Shay also collected the Most Popular Photo category with this pic and will receive a $20 Coles Port Douglas shopping voucher so she can try out a new recipe.

Winners can arrange to collect their prize by calling The Newsport on 4099 5122.

Entries for November are streaming in so be part of this great competition and send up to four of your photos to editor@thenewsport.com.au.
