Men’s Results

With many players away for the Super Challenge in South Cairns on Saturday social bowls were enjoyed by only a few remaining bowlers.

In a close game S Chatterton and C Wills def. T Elcoate and C Maxted 22-19 while in a “walk away” game G Bolton and Zilly defeated J Prammer and T Brlyack 31-15.

Sunday saw the final of the Club Selected Threes competition where P Jansen, E Smith and C Maxted claimed the day and the title with a decisive win of 20-10 over G Bolton, R Gard and B Wolland.

We are now entering the festive season with a host of exciting upcoming events with prizes galore courtesy of the Club’s sponsors.

This Saturday will be Bunn and Belshaw day with prizes of Christmas hams. On 1 December will be Patron’s Day with prawns provided by Joe Girgenti.

Waugh and Dwyer Day will be on 8 December with a host of great Christmas prizes and to wind up the festivities will be the presentation day on 15 December. Mufti dress is now OK and non-bowlers and first timers are welcome to come along and join the fun.

Registrations close each Saturday at 12.30 and competition begins at 1.30. To register in advance ring the club on 4098 1434.

Ladies Results

Congratulations to Carole Maxted on winning the B Grade championship and to Dot Kostyrka on being runner up. Social bowls was won by Bev Zillfleisch, Jean Marsh and Val Sharpe (+7). The lucky raffle winner was Joan Day.

Don’t forget the club AGM this Sunday 15 December at 9.30am to be followed by the ladies meeting.
