First innings points for Blue

Muddies Blue traveled to Fuller Park to hopefully continue their unbeaten run this year in the two-day format.

For only the second time this year they played with 11 men. Innisfail resumed their innings at 5/58. They only managed to put on 6 runs before the pressure became too great and "golden arm" Keith Taylor effected a one handed under arm run out of Singh who was looking good and was out for 34.

This started the fall of wickets in quick concession. Vic Chandra taking a sharp chance at second slip to hand Adam Lucas his five-wicket bag, finishing with great figures of 6/36 off 12 overs.

Dave Johnson also got in on the act with 2/39 off 9 overs. Muddies Blue had bowled Innisfail out for 79.

The second innings started and the Muddies were looking to bat the day and have some fun but Innisfail had other ideas and had the Muddies Blue 5/29 before Gary Postans and Simon Cody tried to steady the ship with a 42 run partnership before Cody was bowled to leave the score 6/71.

Gary was batting fantastically but wickets were falling around him. The incoming batsman knew he was on 47 and so close to bringing up his first 50 for the club but it wasn't to be as Gary was left not out on 47 and Muddies Blue were all out for 104.

With first innings points gained by the Muddies it was just about playing for time as Innisfail need to score 167 for the win in 30 minutes.

A.lucas and D.Johnson opened the bowling again and managed to pick up one wicket each to have Innisfail 2/45 at the end of days play.

Muddies Blue win on first innings and remain undefeated with one game to go. This game will be played against Atherton at the Tolga race track for a 1pm start.
