Eclipse weather a two-horse race

Will clear skies greet tomorrow's solar eclipse, or will clouds rain on our parade? Resident tipster Wayne Stapleton gives his weather odds.

While the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting scattered showers on Wednesday morning, Wayne Stapleton, in form after his Melbourne Cup win, says in a two-horse race 'Cloudy Days' is the unbackable favourite.

"Even money for Cloudy Days," he said. "It's definitely going to be cloudy. 'Sunny Skies' is at long odds at 20-1."

Recent form, however, has Cloudy Days only marginally ahead of Sunny Skies. Over the past week, regular 6.38am training sessions have seen Cloudy Days triumph four times while Sunny Skies has prevailed on three occasions.

But we all love the underdog, and Sunny Skies will definitely carry the hopes of 60,000 punters in the region tomorrow.
