Cream rises in best dressed comp
The red carpet always brings out the best, and four of the region's most fashionable people have been recognised for their sense of style.
After Attitudes Boutique's Jorja Newham picked the cream of the crop from the Port Douglas Magazine 2012 Douglas Business Awards, it was over to the readers to decide who would be crowned the best dressed woman, man, and couple from the evening.
In what was a battle to the end, Emma Perez pipped her friend and Sea Temple Resort and Spa workmate Elise to take the honours.
"I feel so bad, we sit next to each other. But she rang me yesterday and was all excited," Emma said.
Asked if she'd be frequently reminding Elise of the win Emma replied, "No, no, well, maybe sometimes."
Emma can build on her impressive wardrobe thanks to Attitudes Boutique who provided a $50 voucher for her efforts.

Steve Oakley, general manager of QT Resort Port Douglas, was a favourite amongst readers being likened to James Bond in his striking tux.
Steve can't split the old and the new when it comes to choosing the Bond he likens himself to.
"The new guy, Daniel Craig. I'd probably have to go that way but Sean Connery is my personal favourite. The class of Sean Connery and the appeal of Daniel Craig is the combo I'd like," he said.

Thanks to the readers who voted for Steve he has collected a $75 voucher from another crowd favourite, Salsa Bar & Grill.
It has been a big week for Steve who last week took out the Rookie of the Year Award at the biannual AHL Conference. Steve was up against AHL Group general managers from all over the world but was chosen for his achievements while working in Sydney, Cairns, and now Port Douglas.

Last but by no means least, Sean and Irene Healy took the gong for the Best Dressed Couple.
The super-stylish pair will be cruising the Inlet on board the region's best tourist attraction, Lady Douglas.
"There aren't too many opportunities to walk down the red carpet so you have to make the most of it," Sean said.
Irene added there was intensive preparation for the pair including rigorous facials in the lead up to the event.
"It took a week for me to find a dress. I was completely in Attitudes so I was representing them," she said.
