In fact there is now less than two months to go to meet requirements for asthma training under the National Quality Framework.

There are only four courses that meet ACECQA’s requirements for asthma training:
•    21886VIC – Course in Emergency Asthma Management
•    22024VIC – Course in Emergency Management of Asthma in the Workplace
•    80969ACT – Course in Emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management
•    HLTFA412A – Apply Advanced First Aid

If you have completed your asthma training, ensure one of these codes is listed on your certificate. If not, you HAVE NOT met the ACECQA requirements for asthma training.

It’s important that asthma sufferers are well managed so that they can live their life to the full and do all the activities they want to.

The aim of asthma management is to achieve best control. Many asthma triggers are common things that may be around the home, so people often need to know what they can change at home, or what products might help their asthma. Sufferers may find their asthma is worse at work.  For others it’s plants and pollens that cause them difficulties with asthma or allergies.

Having a healthy diet and an active lifestyle is an important part of living well. Being overweight, smoking or suffering from stress or depression can have a significant impact on your asthma. That's why it is vital to have as many fully trained qualified asthma management staff as possible.
