$3k down, $9k to go
The Council has chipped in over $10,000 for Port Douglas and Mossman festive celebrations.
Port Douglas and Mossman will receive over $10,000 from Council for community events during the festive season.
New funding agreements were approved at Council's ordinary meeting at Babinda on Wednesday which saw $3,000 go to the Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce for New Year’s Eve fireworks displays, and $7,500 for the Mossman Community Christmas in the Park.
The Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce will now commence fundraising for the remaining $9,000 required to host the fireworks displays.
