Women reign supreme in photo comp
Women photographers have dominated April's Best Photo Competition with all four prize winners going to female entrants.
As usual, the judges had a challenge on their hands with the quality and number of entries seemingly growing by the month.
But it was Louise Coghill's 'Secret Garden' that got the nod for first prize. Louise has won herself a $100 voucher from Garricks Camera House PLUS $50 cash. Congratulations Louise.
Runner Up was Donna Ward's 'Shannonvale Causeway.' The technique and creativity of the shot will certainly be done justice by Perrin Clarke at Image Bank Australia who will mount the image on a stretched canvas for Donna.
Barron Gorge was a popular spot for Best Photo Competition entrants in April, and Ellen Wilson's 'Barron Falls, Kuranda, from my view of the world' has earned her an underwater camera (preferably not for use under the falls) thanks to Coles Supermarket Port Douglas.
Have you checked out the region's best photo competition?
Finally, it was a tight finish between Eva De Block and Patricia Andrews in the Most Popular Photo category, but Patricia's 'Rainy days in the garden' had enough support to get her over the line.
Patricia has won a $50 bar and bistro voucher from our new sponsor, the Court House Hotel.

Well done to all of the entrants for April, and May is shaping up to be bigger and better still.
Best of all is the interaction between our photographers who regularly write comments of support on the Best Photo Competition Page. There seems to be a great little 'community' being created and it's something we definitely hope continues.
