Smith laments injury count

Well we have had a very interesting fortnight since last we spoke. After leading by 30 points we've had last half fadeouts against Hawks and now a repeat this week against Centrals.

Coops has addressed it with the players and is as baffled as the rest of us.

To add insult to injury is just that, injuries! First, Sam broke his elbow then we had a couple of hamstring injuries, and Dillian Kane has flown to Melbourne to have a broken foot bolted together.

Co-captain Brad Lawlor has a knee problem, Mitch Nicholson the same, Mark Nugin from North Albury has cracked ribs and Kane Freyling suffered concussion on Saturday. We should have shares in Mossman Hospital at this rate.

Still, Coops and his troops will power on and this gives opportunities to some of the Reserve players to step up.

This week we tackle the Lions at Holloways and a loss could see us sitting at the bottom of the ladder. I believe situations like this will show the character of the team and the club to bond together and fight our way out of this slump.

We need your support this week at Holloways.

On a brighter note the Reserves have been going from strength to strength and last weekend's score of 205 to 1 was incredible.

Over the next several weeks we will be calling on Wally's boys to help out in the Seniors and it will surely test our playing ranks at the club.

Several juniors have put their hand up to help fill the gaps and have accredited themselves very well.

On a humorous side at the club - an ice cream fridge arrived over Christmas and juniors' organiser Kylie Cox (juniors canteen co-ordinator) asked me if we were still selling ice creams as the fridge is a pain because they have to keep moving it out of the way each week.

Need an employee or looking for a job. See our Employment page.

Turns out neither of us ordered it or wanted it. Communication is a great thing. Where the bloody hell did it come from!

Thanks to all our volunteers who continue to assist and make the committee’s job so much easier.

See you at the Courty Friday night for our raffles and Thursdays for Normy and Robs all can eat meals.

We will be doing the bar at the Masters Cricket match on 19 May. If you can assist on the day in any way it will be much appreciated. Please give me a call on 0408 985 372.

Regards to all.
