Traffic control on scene, short delays expected. Single lane closure at Yule Point.

Julatten: Water over the road all directions at Bushy Creek. All lanes affected. Short delays expected. Do not drive in flood waters.

Mossman Mount Molloy Road, Julatten - Hazard: Water over road all directions at Bushy Creek.

All lanes affected. Short delays expected. Do not drive in flood waters.

Reports of debris on the road at Yule Point and surface water at Tin Creek, Wangetti and other areas.

Heavy rainfall is being observed from Port Douglas to Cardwell with fast rises occurring in creeks and streams throughout the warning area. Rainfall is forecast to continue through Friday morning.

Rainfall totals since 9am Thursday include 327mm at Nerada and 259mm at Mona Mona.

Catchments affected include the Daintree, Mossman, Mulgrave/Russell, Barron, Tully/Murray and Johnstone.

A severe weather warning has been issued for heavy rainfall by the Bureau of Meteorology. Rain predicted to ease later today with moderate E to SE winds, tending fresh and gusty at times during the day.
