Cougars pip Rattle
This week saw some tight games as well as some big margins. To start the night off, Central Cougars only just managed to hold off Rattle N’ Hum by one goal by final whistle.
Up until the end of the third quarter the strong Rattle N’ Hum side maintained a small lead. The nail biting final quarter produced some impressive turn arounds as well as some passes the players were not overly proud of.
In the second A-grade game, Crocs 1 were unable to find a win against the top positioned Young Guns. Crocs however did not go down without a fight making the Guns’ work for every goal and pay for every mistake.
The game was constantly going back and forwards and all players gave it their all for a final score of 28 – 15. Guns’ shooter, Bec Nelson, and Crocs wing, Mel Ketu, were awarded the game’s best and fairest players after giving 100% throughout the entire game.
The Crocs 2 team had a bit more luck achieving a draw against the Ring Ins. The score kept very level throughout the game as a result of the ball making it up and down the court a number of times before it found the hoop. Defence players Jane Gwilliams, and Kristen C, were awarded the game’s best and fairest players of the game.

The young Jets side gave the Gunnars a run for their money in an impressive 24 – 7 win. Jets shooter, Estha Naelty, was the stand out player of the game being chosen by both the umpires and opposition as player of the match.
The Bits N’ Pieces side had a close game only winning by nine goals against the Wolverines. The Pieces played a solid game and won all but the last quarter when the Wolverines gave one last blast of energy.
Wolverines shooter, Jade Jardine, and Pieces’ shooter, Tracy Buttland, were awarded the game’s best and fairest players.
