Upsets galore in AFL

Hi All and nice to be back from a short break of writing – my wrist was getting sore but has now recovered!

The AFL had an interesting round with plenty of upsets. My beloved Lions upset ladder leading West Coast and the Dees got on the board against a lack lustre second placed Bombers.

Nathan Buckley’s advice to his Pies players before the Gold Coast clash on Sunday would therefore have been simple, "don’t just show up and expect to win!"

Those punters out there lurking the good odds would have some fat wallets if they picked these ones, especially the Dees who payed $12.

Cheap, easy, and lasts longer - Check out our Classifieds.

What it proves, however, is this season is as open as ever and even Richmond could win the flag this year! No that’s not a typo, the Tigers are playing as well as anybody right now which puts them in the mix for going deep into September action.

Ok let’s face it, it’s not gonna happen but supporters of this club need some form of hope.

This week's winners
Collingwood - The Buckley doubters have gone quiet after seven straight W’s!
Dees - On the board!
Lance Franklin - Bags a lazy 13!
Jack Watts - BOG from the controversial first round pick!
Melbourne Storm - Looking too good!
Brisbane Lions - Yeah Baby!
Gary Ablett Jnr - 53 touches!

This week's losers
Northern Pride - Not liking the road trips!
West Coast and Essendon - Gotta win those ones!
Carlton - What’s happened to the Blues? Woeful!

Congratulations to our winners of the celebrity basketball playoff tipping competition. The winners who picked NZ in 3 were Toni Bennett (Coral Sea Villas), Glen Saville (Wollongong Hawks), Lucas Agrums (Quicksilver) and Michael Gabour (Radio PD).

As promised all four of you get to take me out to dinner so my favourite restaurants are Salsa, Nautilus and Ironbar!
