Poll opens in Best Photo comp
Records continue to tumble in the Best Photo Competition with more than 60 quality images sent to us by talented photographers - the most ever!
And competition to make the Top 10 shortlist is also heating up making May the toughest month ever for the judges to adjudicate on.
The shortlist, decided upon by Imagebank Australia's Perrin Clarke, Catseye Productions' Ali George, and The Newsport Editor Mathew Churchill, is created to allow the voting public to have their say on which photo they like the best in the Most Popular Photo category.
We encourage photographers whose pics have made the shortlist to drum up support for their photo through friends and family. By doing so, all photographers get their work shown to a wider audience.
The winner of the Most Popular Photo for May will receive a MasterChef apron and 'Cook Italian' cookbook courtesy of Coles Supermarket Port Douglas.
The winner of the Best Photo Competition will receive a $100 Garricks Camera House Voucher PLUS $50 cash - what a great way to upgrade your gear.
Runner-up will have their shot immortalised on a stretched canvas valued at $75 thanks to Perrin at Imagebank Australia. Perrin is a big supporter of the competition and a passionate photographer so drop in to his gallery on Wharf Street Port Douglas and say g'day.
Third placed photographer will receive an underwater camera valued at $40 thanks to Coles Supermarket Port Douglas.
The poll is ready and waiting for your vote, but be quick, voting closes on Tuesday 12 June.
If you're favourite photo isn't on the shortlist, let us know in the comments section why you love it. Art is subjective after all.
Regardless of the result, every entry is valued as it contributes to an amazing gallery of photographs which promote our stunning region to the world.
Win big in the region's Best Photo Competition.
