Crocs regain their run
Port Douglas Crocs were at home to Centrals Trinity Beach at the Croc Pit on Saturday.
Because it was Ladies' Day, there was a large crowd in attendance. The game commenced with a stiff breeze blowing directly across the ground.
Judging the wind made high marking difficult. The first goal to the Crocs came from a beautiful kick by newcomer Adam Boone. There was an answering goal by the Centrals who had had many more chances to score but kicked inaccurately.
Boone kicked his second and then Jackson Brown kicked his first. Four straight goals by the Crocs versus two goals seven behinds to the inaccurate Centrals.
Dylin Wearmouth, Kurt Bradshaw and Mark Nuggin were standouts out early in the first quarter.
In the second quarter the game continued in the same vein - fast, flow-on football with the Crocs continuing to kick accurately for goal.
In the second half of the game, the Crocs piled on the pressure, resulting in the Crocs' boys peppering the goals. In a brilliant third quarter the locals' sustained footy exploded the score line.
Partick Godsell, Ben McCartney and Adam Boone had led the charge to an eight goal quarter by the Crocs. It was great all round team play.
The last quarter was more of the same for the Crocs. Jackson Brown at his laconic goal-sneaking best, and Daniel Harris was hard in and under. The goal of the day was kicked by Pat Godsell after a blistering run off the half back line and a terrific finish.
Perhaps the presence of the ladies had inspired the players to great heights. Coach Brad Cooper is to be congratulated on the way his boys have been finishing full of run and playing out recent matches match exceptionally well.

Reserves
In the Reserves match, Port Douglas Crocs were easily able to account for the undermanned Centrals team. It was most unfortunate that the Centrals' boys were not able to enter their forward 50 until very late in the match. Coach Darren Wall certainly has his boys teaming well.
