Cougars and Rattle tussle again

by Rachel Ramsay

As competition gets tougher, every player has a crucial role to play in the success of their team.

For the A grade Crocs team, the game proved just that defeated by Young Guns 56-5. The Crocs took the court with no subs and were missing their key attack and shooting players.

Despite the lack of players, Crocs still came out and gave it their all not letting the defeat dampen their spirits.

With the closest game of the night, Cougars and Rattle fought it out till the very end, with Cougars coming out on top with a 24-22 win.

Rattle took the lead in the first quarter but could not keep up with the Cougars attack, with Michelle Pitt’s shooting earning her best and fairest.

The Div 2 Crocs claimed a win over Ring Ins 18-11. Ring Ins managed to keep level with the Crocs for the first two quarters, however Crocs' defence kept the ball away from the Ring Ins' circle.

Crocs' centre Natalie Castro was awarded both players' choice and best and fairest honours for her efforts in the midcourt.

The Jets' defence proved themselves by dominating the Gunnars' attacks, taking out the win, 22-5. Gunnars came out fighting in last quarter almost levelling the quarter's scoring 6-4.

The Reptos took out a massive win over the Breakers with the scoring difference of 30-1. The Breakers were no match for the Reptos' shooting and defence with GD Eleisha Mealing taking out players' choice.

Breakers' Amber Edmonds was awarded best and fairest for her efforts in the midcourt.

Lastly, Bits N Pieces had a win over the Wolverines 21-15. The Wolverines fought back in the third quarter shooting 7 extra goals but couldn’t quite work their way around Bits N Pieces' defence.

Wolverines' Chrissie Reushle and Bits N Pieces' Hiromi Wall were both awarded best and fairest for the night.
