The third round of the Mossman Golf Club Championships was played on Saturday morning.  Members were saddened by the news of the sudden loss of Ian “Chisel” McComack, who has been a great stalwart of the Club for over 20 years.

Tuesday's field of 36 players competed in a Stableford event which was won by Greg Walker with 42 points.  Second place was taken out by Lance Townsend with 41 points and third was D Stevenson with 39 points on a count-back to Rick Herschell.

Nearest the pins were P Perry on 6, Greg on 8, D Stevenson on 10, John White on 13 and Mal Phillips on 17.

The winner of Wednesday’s nine hole event was Dennis Blake with 21, second place Matty Gray with 20 points on a count-back to Julie Hooker. Nearest the pins were L Gibson on 6 and Antony Croser on 8.

Thursday’s Ladies Stableford event was won by Bette Wells with 40 points.  Second place was Christie Bouwkamp with 36 points on a count-back to Shona Barbour. Nearest the pins were Julie Hooker on 8, Shona on 10, Glenda Christensen on 13 and Christie on 17.

The new special Friday Frolic (9 holes golf, shared motorised buggy and 6 pack in ice to share for $30 per player) was enjoyed by plenty of social players.  For players with handicaps, the competition was won by Dan Hober with 23 points for nine holes.
