Mossman’s most iconic building celebrates its 75th Anniversary this month and Cairns Regional Council invites the community to be a part of the festivities.

A four-day Memory Lane Exhibition will be officially opened on Friday, June 22, at the recently refurbished hall, followed by a free Old Time Dance and light supper to cap off the evening.

Council has been working closely with the local community in sourcing photos and memorabilia from musicals, community events, balls and dances held in the hall over the decades.

Division 10 Councillor Julia Leu said the evening would be a true community event, celebrating the history of the hall and the town of Mossman.

“Council will host this historic evening where the community can come together, reminisce and gain an insight into yesteryear,” Cr Leu said.  

“It has been wonderful to see people get behind the project, sharing their memories. This event will add another chapter to the history of this iconic building that has been a feature of so many Douglas events.”

The Exhibition is open June 22 6.30pm to10.30pm, June 23 10am to noon, June 25 and June 26 from 10am to 2pm.
