Under 18 Crocs finals bound

Port Douglas Crocs Under 18s are still sitting in third place after a loss to Cairns Hawks on Wednesday night.

With the Port team low on regular numbers due to the school holidays the boys fought the game out right to the end against a quality opponent.

With Alex Forbes, Jack Lowe and Jack Goodall (on a transfer permit) working hard in the centre, the team gave the forwards good use of the ball with Mathew Westgate snapping two great goals.

A positive to come out of the night was the return of Michael McKeown to the team after a long stint injured with a broken shoulder. His return, along with the good form from Jordan OGorman, Michael Pidgeon and Keegan O'Neill kept the team in the contest throughout the night.

The final scores were Hawks 71 points to the Crocs 47.

With a finals spot guaranteed and the return to the side of other injured players the team needs to work hard under coach Trevor Mandersloot in the five remaining games until finals, with the team a big chance to win that elusive premiership.
