Over 100 people enjoyed the second Pacific Toyota and Lexus of Cairns Charity Golf Day at Sea Temple on Sunday.

The day was organised by Bob and Lucy Stanton with proceeds going to Paws and Claws animal refuge.

Secretary of Paws and Claws, Marguerite Cordell, said the day gave a huge boost to the refuge, and thanked those involved.

"Approximately $12,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of the sponsors and players. The rain managed to stay away and a great day was had by all."

Paws and Claws animal refuge is located in Craiglie on the Captain Cook Highway and relies on community donations of food and funding. For more information call them on 07 4098 5721.
