Spritz spritely at dressage comp

The Julatten-based Horse North Dressage Team were out competing again at the weekend at the Cairns Show/FNEG Dressage Championship held at Redlynch.

Angela Sausman took the Official Elementary Championship riding her warmblood gelding Spritz.

Anglea was extremely pleased with their performance. “Spritz went well on Saturday, especially. We camped at the grounds and on Saturday night there was a lot of traffic noise coupled with a loud party nearby.

"No one slept well and Sunday was a bit more of a struggle for us all, but Spritz rose to the challenge even in the pouring rain.”

Angela’s other competition horse, APH Swish also came out for his first outing this year.

“Swish is still young and gets very excited at competitions: he’s training hard and I was very pleased with his performance as he showed that he could concentrate well in the competition arena," she said.

"He’s showing great promise for his future career.”

Swish competed in the Official Preliminary tests and came fourth on both days.

The Horse North Dressage Team will be competing in further Championships in Mareeba and Townsville in August where Angela hopes to build on the team’s performance.
