Local pair charged with drink driving
A 41 year-old man and a 25 year-old man will appear in Mossman Magistrates Court on 8 August after being caught drink driving over the weekend.
The men, one from Mossman and one from Miallo, were charged with "mid-level" drink driving offences which, according to Port Douglas Police, means a blood alcohol level of between 0.10 and 0.15 was recorded.
A 32 year-old Port Douglas man will also appear in Mossman Magistrates Court on 8 August after being charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle after he allegedly stole a black ute two weeks ago. The ute was recovered the following day.
The man will also face a charge of unlicensed driving.

Officer in Charge at Port Douglas Police Station, Sergeant Damian Meadows, warned people to secure their sets of keys noting a growing trend of burglars breaking into homes only to return at a later date to steal the owner's vehicle.
"People need to be mindful of their home security as well because that's the modus operandi nowadays.
"They may not necessarily take the car that day, they can come back in a week or so and take it which is quite common in larger centres."
He advised residents not to leave car keys on a hook visible to potential thieves.
"We're not immune to anything in Port Douglas. Particularly at this time of year when we get a bit busy, it's easy for undesirables to float in and mingle with the larger crowds."
