Fuzzy eyes Port property

After her recent visit to the region, The Newsport spoke with TV personality and DJ Faustina 'Fuzzy' Agolley to see what she thought of our piece of the world.

The Newsport: Tell us about your trip to the region. What were some of your highlights?

Fuzzy: I love Port Douglas and the Daintree. I got into the area a couple of days before my DJ gig to tour around the area.

I'm a big lover of nature so highlights for me were the Naiu Falls, learning traditional hunting and gathering techniques with Brandon on Cooya Beach where we found a mud crab and mussels and periwinkles, eating at Silky Oaks Lodge by the amazing Mossman River and I also hired a bike to ride around Port Douglas and along the beach. It was perfect.

TN: Sounds like you packed a fair bit in.

F: I felt like I needed a few more days so I could visit the Mossman Gorge, see more of Port Douglas beach and the surrounds. Next time.

TN: Any plans to come back?

F: I would love to return. And of course the best highlight was having play the Iron Bar, it being totally packed on the Saturday night, hitting 3am where everyone is singing at the top of their lungs, hugging each other.

I was so happy that everyone was in such good spirits, and it's always nice to hear them wanting more music when the party needs to shut down for the night. So it would be great to play the Iron Bar again. And just to even visit.

TN: We heard a rumour that you were looking at buying a house up here. Is there any truth in that?

F: I was interested in property in the region and was crunching the stats with Soula at Century 21. This research takes time, and I was just grateful that Soula was so helpful. Perfect tropical home? Something that looks like the River Room of Silky Oaks!
