Cairns’ own Emma Louise returns to her home town with her stunning vocals and intimate performance.  Expect musical magic in Tank 5 at the Tanks Arts centre this coming Friday (July 6th).

By the time she was just 17-years of age Emmas talent for song writing and performing went way beyond her years. She achieved numerous industry accolades including the 2007 Courier Mails People’s Choice Award for Kims Song, winner of Commercial Radio Australias New Artists 2 Radio competition for Insomnia and winner of the Australian Childrens Music Foundation song writing competition, both in 2008.

Emma-Louise has performed in venues such as the Tivoli Theatre in Brisbane and Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast. She also opened the Sydney Festival in Hyde Park with the Sydney Youth Orchestra in January this year.

She has supported legendary Australian artists such as Tim Rodgers, the Audreys and Mental as Anything and has played alongside the Living End, Faker and the Galvatrons.

It’s been a whirlwind 12 months since Emma Louise was last at Tanks.  She’s played numerous sold out shows, gained international notoriety and an endless list of accolades including two gongs at the recent International Songwriting Competition 2012, one for her smash hit single Jungle (Pop / Top 40) and one for 1000 Sundowns (Folk / Singer Songwriter). 

She launched her debut EP at Tanks last year: returns with new single 'Boy', giving the first taste of her debut album, due early 2013.

Emma's new album is being produced by another of our local legends, Nigel Pegrum, who has produced 5x UK Gold and 7x Silver albums and has won Best Producer, Best Engineer, Album of the Year and Best Indigenous Album for the QLD Recording Association Awards.

Emma Louise has an intoxicating voice paired with beautiful, honest delivery.
