Crocs cut down to size
Port Douglas Crocs journeyed to Fretwell Park on Saturday to do battle against the South Cairns Cutters. Knowing that this was an important game at this stage of the season, the team was determined to take the fight up to the fourth- placed Cutters.
Both teams put on a high quality game for the spectators, but unfortunately the Crocs suffered a third quarter fade-out which enabled South Cairns to constantly bombard their forward zone.
The Port Douglas backline, which was again well led by Ben Herbert, strove manfully to keep their opponents out, but with South Cairns dominant through the mid-field, the sheer number of forward thrusts enabled the Cutters to storm to an 11 goal victory at the final siren.
For The Crocs Adam Boone at full forward enjoyed a successful day with a five goal haul and Jordan O"Gorman, Joel Lawlor, Kane Freyling and Dylin Wearmouth were prominent throughout the match.
