City Over Sand release new album
Long time Port Douglas ‘wannabe-local’ Dan Carroll with his band ‘City Over Sand’ releases his new six track digital album.
Many of you will remember that it was Dan's previously named band, The June Julys, who headlined the legendary first ever Port Douglas ‘Sunset in the Park’ back in 2008, where over 2,500 locals picnicked, sunbathed and revelled in an afternoon of brilliant local talent climaxing with The June Julys blowing everyone away with their original sounds.
Now the three core band members, Jules Keshan, Brad Hoskins and Dan, himself have consolidated their attack on Australia’s music chart with this new self titled album ‘City Over Sand’.
The Gold Coast threesome have discovered a new confidence as demonstrated on this new digital album. They have rejuvenated their classic pop rock heavy hook sound which is more evident than ever in the new tracks.
The album cover is sourced from an aspiring young artist, Joel Rea.
Track listing:
1. The Four Fifteen 03:30
2. Get Out Now 02:54
3. Come Down 04:42
4. The Outside 03:14
5. The New Day 03:49
6. Home 03:53
My favourites are ‘Come Down’, ‘The New Day’ and ‘The Four Fifteen’ but why not check the album out and let us know what you think.
They launched their new self-titled album through their own direct music download site bandcamp (cityoversand.bandcamp.com) and it can also be found on iTunes, the irrefutable online music leader.
The new 'City Over Sand' album is now available on iTunes. Visit www.cityoversand.bandcamp.com and listen and/or purchase for $5. View the new film clip at www.cityoversand.tumblr.com.
