Back-to-back for Photo Comp winner
It has been nearly two years since we've had a back-to-back winner in the Best Photo Competition, but history has been made in June.
Emulating Jascha Gusmeroli's efforts of August and September 2010, Amee Holder has won her second Best Photo Competition in a row with her 'Hungry Green Ant' close up photo.
Amee has won a $100 gift voucher thanks to the competition's major sponsor, Garricks Camera House, and $50 cash.
Her pic also proved very popular with the voting public, falling just short of taking out the Most Popular Photo category as well. That honour goes to Charlotte Hellings with her 'Painted Sky' image. Charlotte has earned herself a coveted MasterChef Apron and Italian Cookbook thanks to Coles Supermarket Port Douglas so she can whip up a celebratory pasta.
Runner up in the Best Photo Competition went to Nat Barnes with her peaceful 'Tranquillity.' It will look fantastic on a stretched canvas from Imagebank Australia - even more so now that Perrin Clarke has increased the size of the prize to an impressive 600mm x 400mm canvas valued at $120. Thanks Perrin and well done Nat.
Win big in the region's Best Photo Competition.
Last but not least, Eva De Block has taken out third prize in the competition with her brilliantly coloured 'Fire and Water.' Eva can reflect on her win under the stars at the ever-popular
Moonlight Cinema at QT Resort as she's won a double pass to a movie of her choice thanks to our mates at Moonlight Cinema.
Well done to all of our winners, and all of our entrants who continue to show off our region to the world in the most spectacular way. Winners can arrange to collect their prizes by calling The Newsport on 07 4099 5122.
We'd also like to take the opportunity to thank our judges; Perrin from Imagebank Australia, Ali from Catseye Productions, and Ben and Cath from Sass Studios.
July is shaping to be one of our biggest months yet so if you haven't already done so get your photos to editor@thenewsport.com.au.
