EF: What is your greatest achievement?
BG: Being a mum and grandma.

EF: What do you like about gymnastics?
BG: It prepares young people for life, both physically and mentally.

EF: What advice do you have for upcoming gymnasts?
BG: Persist and persevere, but most of all HAVE FUN!

Alanna Ives

Erin Frizelle: What are your qualifications or position?
Alanna Ives: Junior Coach with WAG and MAG Level 1 accreditation and beginners judge accreditation.

EF: How long have you been actively involved in gymnastics?
AI: In 2007 I started gymnastics in general gym, and in 2010 I became a junior coach.

EF: Why did you decide to become a coach?
AI: Because I enjoyed gymnastics and I wanted to pass on the enjoyment to others. I thought the best way to do that was to become a coach!

EF: What is your greatest achievement in the sport?
AI: I haven’t achieved anything significant in the competition side of the sport, because I was there for the fun while I was a gymnast. I think my biggest achievement is becoming an accredited coach and seeing the kids I coach develop their skills, make friends, and improve in the sport.

EF: What do you like most about gymnastics?
AI: Gymnastics is a great way to improve coordination, flexibility and general fitness in an enthusiastic environment.

EF: What advice do you have for upcoming gymnasts?
AI: Try your best on each activity and apparatus because you’re nearly guaranteed to have a lot of fun and make life-long friends.
