December winners announced
What better way to see out the old year and welcome in the new than to give away some fantastic prizes to the winners of December's Best Photo Competition.
The winner of the Best Photo Competition for December was Susanne Stannard with her 'Sunbird building a nest' photo. Susanne has been a regular in the shortlist in recent months and has now earned herself a $100 Garrick's Camera House voucher PLUS $50 cash.
Second place went to Richard Hopper for the visually spectacular 'The shell inside.' Richard will have it immortalised thanks to Image Bank Australia who will create a beautiful stretched canvas valued at $75.
Third prize went to Tod Walker for his 'White lipped green tree frog'. Any of Tod's four pics could have been chosen for a top three finish but the judges loved the colours and detail in this particular photo. He can thank his frog for the lovely bottle of wine which is waiting for him.
The Most Popular Photo as voted by you was taken by Daphne Sharpe. Her 'Farm friend' photo was brilliant and she and a (farm) friend will be heading to AME to take on the thrilling Jungle Ball.
There has been some discussion about the Most Popular Photo category, and as always we're happy to try new things so when it's time to choose your favourite pic for January we'll make sure all photographers are represented so you can select their pic should you deem it worthy.
We're open to suggestions and we love the discussions you have on the Best Photo Competition page - it just adds another dimension to a gallery we're extremely proud of being able to host.
Well done to the winners for December. You can call Mathew at The Newsport on 4099 5122 to arrange your prize.
