Bulls Masters eye Port return

Whispers coming from the Port Douglas Mudcrabs cricket club suggest that the Bulls Masters may be returning to Port Douglas once again.

Such was the popularity of 2011's match, Jimmy Maher and The Bulls Masters have expressed a desire to play another Twenty20 game this year in the first week of Carnivale.

Vice president and skipper of the Muddies C Grade team, Steve Doble, said discussions are underway between the club and the Bulls Masters, and should they prove fruitful negotiations with AFL Cairns and Cairns & District Rugby Union will take place to ensure the Port Douglas Sports Complex is available.

In 2011 almost 3000 people flocked to the ground to see a number of local players take on legends of Queensland cricket such as Jimmy Maher, Greg Ritchie, and Michael Kasprowicz who represented the Bulls Masters.
