Tight finish for junior Muddies

The Under 12 Muddies team played a close match against Atherton Boars at Mossman High School on Saturday. Muddies Captain Bryce Fabiani lost the toss and the opposition team elected to bat first.  

Wicketkeepers for the game were Bryce and Nathan Deuble, while wicket takers for the Muddies were:

Keel Sorensen 1/5 off 3 overs
Nathan Deuble 1 for 4 off 2
Hugo Walker 1/8 off 3
Daniel Davidson 1/9 off 3
Raine Sorensen 1/9 off 2
Tully Cartwright 1/11
Vincent Killeen 1/12
Ryan Doble 1/15

Catches were taken by Nathan, Tully, Daniel and Hugo Corrie which helped to cease the opposition’s innings at 8/116.

Nathan Deuble and Bryce Fabiani opened the batting with Bryce quickly out without making a run followed shortly by Nathan out on 2. 

Newcomer Hugo Corrie played a terrific first match for the Muddies retiring on 31 off 33 balls. Daniel Davidson also retired on 19, Keel Sorensen made 10 and Vincent Killeen batted steadily until being caught out on 4 runs Hugo Walker also on 4. 

The junior Muddies just fell short of making the opposition score finishing on 10/111, a mere five run loss to the Atherton team.
