High hopes on road trip
The Taipans are coming off a bye and are heading straight into a double away header in Round 11 which will determine if the boys are playoff bound or not.
It all starts tonight against the double defending champs New Zealand who are licking their wounds after a serious butt kicking from Sydney last round.
It would have been nicer to get them in relaxed mode but whatever way you get it, it’s never easy in this league.
Here’s my take for Round 11
Tonight – NZ v Cairns.
Taipans by 2 (they can and will do it!)
Friday – Wollongong v Perth.
Perth had the monopoly board out on Sunday and got out of jail free against Adelaide – not tomorrow night however. Gong by 7.
Saturday – Sydney v Gong.
Every time I tip against the Hammer, Sydney win, but the Gong will get this one as well – by 10 (a hint there to get some dough on the Kings).
Saturday – Adelaide v T/ville.
This game will tell 36ers' fans exactly what they already know but can’t afford to do – get a new coach (Trev Gleeson). Crocs by 15.
Sunday - Melbourne v Cairns.
I doubt Cairns can win both road trips this weekend but I’m not gonna tip against them. I’m sure Fearney will be aiming for the deuce but will take the split. Another under siege coach Tigers Chris Anstey will receive further heartbreak – Taipans by 12.
Go get 'em boys as two losses would mean...I hate to think. The Sunday game will be televised live at 2pm on Channel 10 so tune in and help cheer the boys home.
