This Saturday Port Douglas will host the biggest event on the Cairns Crocs Triathlon Club’s yearly calendar.
 
The O2 Creation Tri¬Port Triathlon Festival will host around 250 athletes, participating as an individual entry or in a relay team.
 
Three Distanced races will take place:

• 9.00am – Half Iron Distance: 1.9km swim, 90km ride, 21.1km run
• 9:30am – Olympic Distance: 1.5km swim, 40km ride, 10km run
• 9:35am – Sprint Distance: 750m swim, 20km ride, 5km run

The Swim leg will take place off 4 Mile Beach.

The “Pump n Pedals” Cycle Course for the Half Iron will take athletes out to Miallo to complete three laps of Syndicate Road before heading back to Port Douglas.

The Olympic and Sprint distance will cycle a 10km loop from Port Douglas Esplanade out to Old Port Road before turning around and heading back to town.
 
The Actin Fitness Run course will commence from the main beach and head south down Fur Mile Beach and enter the Sheraton Mirage before heading back up to the main beach with the Half Iron Distance athletes heading up the famous stairs and looping around passed Coconut Grove before heading back onto the beach and completing three laps to the finish line.
 
This year will the event will feature professional triathletes Mitchell Anderson, Mitch Robins, Adam Gordon, Jarrod Owen, Tim Van Berkel, Daniel Robins, Matty White and Bec Hoschke.

We are calling all locals to get involved by coming down and supporting the athletes on the day, and more importantly a big call out to volunteers to assist at one of the two drink stations on Four Mile Beach.
