Retail delay cloaked in irony
The date of a planned reunion of local retailers has come and gone after around 50 business people gathered at the end of June to listen to solicitor Martin Tranter's vision for the future.
With enthusiasm for the plan running high, a small group consisting of Peter Watts (Josephines), Jason Smith (Coles), Jaymie Brown (Top Dog Clothing), Julie Bell (Tshinta), and Joya Heckman (Port Douglas Newsagency) was selected by Mr Tranter to undertake some research for what was hoped to be an even bigger turnout for the second meeting, tentatively scheduled for four weeks later.
