The Douglas Junior Netball Carnival was held last Sunday in Port Douglas, but due to a shortage of court space and time constraints divisions were only open to 12, 14 and 16 Under age groups. 

The original limit was set at 24 teams but with 35 team nominating we were lucky enough to be able to use the nearby rugby oval to mark some grass courts and were able to accommodate everyone. 

Douglas Netball Association had eight teams playing in the Carnival against teams from as far as Innisfail and the Tablelands. 

The day was a great success with all the visiting clubs and associations enjoying the trip up to Port Douglas for the day to compete and appreciate the region.
