Jeffrey wins over big field

Last Tuesday 53 players competed in a Stableford event at Mossman Golf Club and Division I was won by Leon Baker with 42 points, while runner-up John Cameron finished with 41.


Division II was won by Des McPherson with 41 points and runner-up Brian McDonald with 39 points. Nearest the pins were Matty Gray on 6, Barry Brims on 8, Bill Allison on 10, John Cameron on 13 and Wayne Soxsmith on 17.

The winner of Wednesday’s nine hole event was John Cameron with 24 points on a count-back to Graham Muter. Nearest the pins were John on 10, Barry Costain on 13 and Kerri-Lynn Williams on 17.

Thursday’s Ladies event was won by Lucy Giles with 41 points, in second place was Katie Brims with 39 points and third place Christie Bouwkamp 38. Nearest the pins were Leonie Phillips won hole 13.

The Friday Frolic was enjoyed by plenty of social players.  For players with handicaps, the competition was won by Bob Hoskins with 21 points on a count-back to Mick Lancaster and Dan Hober.

Saturday’s field of 54 players enjoyed a Stableford event with Division I winner Russell Jeffrey with 38 points and runner-up Art Howard with 36.

Division II winner Des Graham had 42 points and runner-up M.Tagg finished with 40 points. Nearest the Pins were Art on 6, Lance Townsend on 8, Keith Gard on 10,  G. Cook on 13 and Bill Allison on 17.

The Ladies event was won by Julie Hooker with 43 points on a count-back to Judy McCormack.  Third place getter was Patti Graham with 39 points on a count-back to R.Higgins.

Nearest the Pins were Kim Edwards on 6, Carly Edwards on 8, Bev Cowe on 10 and Shona Barbour on 13 and 17.

On Sunday the event was won by Bernie Boon with 43 points and runner-up Elijah Boon with 38 points.
