Voters in the upcoming local government election will have a chance to hear directly from the candidates for Mayoral and Division 10 positions as they spruik their credentials in Port Douglas next week.
The Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce are organising the forum to be held at Seat Temple Golf Club on 24 April at 5.30pm, and will be one of the last opportunities candidates have to win the support of the voting public with the election next Saturday.
President of the Chamber Ken Dobbs said all candidates had already confirmed their attendance and will outline their vision and policies for Port Douglas with the audience able to ask questions of the speakers.

Mr Dobbs said it was incumbent upon the organisation to provide the opportunity for people to learn more about the candidates.
"For years we've done it (ran a forum), at every election, and it's our role. The recent State election forum was very successful."
Tickets to the event cost $25 per head and can be purchased via the Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce website.
