In a statement released by the Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce president, Ken Dobbs, he echoed the calls for the community to find a common goal but added this will pose a challenge.

"This will be very difficult in a passionate community such as Port Douglas but we must find a way to proceed or be content to remain in a downward spiral as suggested by the report."

Mr Dobbs told The Newsport that the final report will be made available to those who would like to see it in its entirity on completion of the review by the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee has created 'GOPORTDOUGLAS' Facebook page and Twitter account as a platform for the community to discuss the road ahead.
