A field of 39 men competed in Tuesday’s Stableford event. The winner was Kym Rowley with 39 points, 2nd place Geoff Parmenter with 38 points on a count-back to Steve Gray.  Nearest the pins Bruce Cheesman  on 8, John “Bullant” Anderson on 10 and John Cameron on 17.

Wednesday’s nine hole event saw Maurie Meth take the honours on a count-back to Shona Barbour.  Nearest the pins – Barry Costain on 8, Ron Smith on 10 and Shona on 17.

Thursday’s Ladies Stableford event was won by Treveen Page with 33 points, 2nd place Jenni Sorenson with 32 points, third place Judy Onto with 31 points, and fourth place Christie Bouwkamp with 30 points.  Nearest the pins – Kerri-Lynn Williams on 8, Leonie Phillips on 10 and Glenda Christensen on 17.

The Saturday Mens Stableford event  was won by Brett Deuble with 38 points, on a count-back to Charlie Kadic, 3rd  Steve Gray with 36 points on a count-back to John Norris and Reece Nesbitt.  Nearest the pins – Reece on 6, Charlie on 8, Ralf Middel on 10 and Ian Prewett on 13.

The Ladies Saturday winner was Christie Bouwkamp with 34 points, second place Bev Cowe with 32 points and third place Shirley Carney with 29 points on a count-back to Katie Brims. Nearest-the-pins Pris Freeman on 6, Shirley on 8, Katie on 10 and Bev on 13.

On Sunday the Ladies Pennant Team travelled to Half Moon Bay Golf Club and enjoyed a win against Gordonvale in matchplay.

Unfortunately the bus load of Mossman Men, who travelled to Cairns Club were not able to claim victory against the Cairns players.  However the defeat did not diminish the enjoyment of the bus trip home, and we look forward to the return challenge event to be held in Mossman in June.
