Crocs' President report
It's time to sit back and have a break after a big seven days. What with last Sunday's 200 club sign on, and Graham's funeral and the celebration of his life at the clubrooms on Thursday.
Then, straight into the clubs jumper presentation which was a great night. It was terrific to see the old players assist in presenting the jumpers.
On Saturday we, at long last, kicked the season off at North Cairns. Darren's Reserves got us off to a great start in a quality game with Jackson Brown, Bloomy, Kane and newcomer Jules taking some great grabs around the ground.
It was a very strong Reserves side and with several new recruits arriving and three or four players returning over the next few weeks things look promising.
The Seniors began the game by kicking into a stiff breeze and Norths got away to a four goal lead. The boys, stunned into action, then began to gel and some fast and furious football followed.
Old timers? McCartney and Nicholsan and new recruits Rowan Handley, Kirk Bradshaw, Skip Gibbons and Dylan Wearmouth all played great footy.
Unfortunately the difference between winning and losing was possibly two Norths players. It was a great showing and things look good for 2012. We still have four players to arrive over the coming weeks.
This leads me into this Saturday. Yes Easter Saturday (first time we have played over Easter). We are hoping to have a bumper crowd and good weather as we take on Souths at home.
Don't forget to tell your mates to go to our website and enter their email details to receive newsletters and up to date info.
