Best Photo winners announced

The judges have made their choices, and now the winners of the Best Photo Competition for March have been announced.

From the shortlist of ten, three darker, brooding photos were chosen above all others and we're sure you'll agree, they are stunning pics for very different reasons.

The top accolade goes to Patricia Andrews for her close up of a 'Skeleton Fern.' Patricia has been sending in high quality shots since joining the competition, and we think this is her best so far.  Well done Patricia, you've won yourself a $100 voucher from Garricks Camera House PLUS $50 cash!

Have you checked out the region's best photo competition?

Second place went to a photo we found fascinating, Caroline Kirche's 'Remembering Old Port.' It's a beautifully dark portrait so well done Caroline. You can have it placed on a stretched canvas valued at $75 thanks to Perrin Clarke at Imagebank Australia.

Coming in third is someone who is equally skilled above and below the water. Winning an underwater camera valued at $40 thanks to Coles Supermarket Port Douglas is Tod Walker for his 'Look out for the rain' photo.

Tod has become a regular at the top of the Best Photo Comp leaderboard, and thanks to this photo he has also taken out the Most Popular Photo so he'll be able to enjoy the views from the lookout with a lovely bottle of wine.

Entries for April are flowing in fast so make sure you don't miss out on the chance to win some great prizes courtesy of our valued sponsors, and the chance to display your pics of our unique region to the world.

Thanks again to the judges, the sponsors, and most importantly our entrants. Be sure to check out the latest Port Douglas Magazine to see a sample of the pics submitted in quality print.
