Three way at Mossman Golf

It was another busy week out at Mossman Golf Club with good competition fields and the Mossman Junior Open on Sunday.

Des McPherson’s nett 68 on Tuesday was more than good enough to win the Monthly medal ahead of Ian Steley on 70. Leon Baker won nearest the pin on 6 and 10, Mal Phillips on 8, Brian O’Connor on 13 and Simon Nelson on 17.

Helen Gabour played well on Wednesday scoring 23 points around the back nine to win ahead of John Cameron on 22 points. Bill Heath won nearest the pin on 13 and Barry Costain won 17.

The Thursday ladies played a Bisque Bogey event last week. Maxine Leigh won with +10 ahead of Gayle Healey on +9. Nearest the pins were won by Heather Atkins on 6, Trish Landy on 8, Patti Graham on 13 and Helen Gabour on 17.

Ralf Middel won Division One on Saturday with 41 points edging out Ian Prewett on 40 points. David Budge won Division Two with 43 points after a count back to Mick Lancaster. Rick Weimar won nearest the pin on 6, Dave Nesbitt on 10, Reece Nesbitt on 13 and Ian May on 17.

Kiara Lomas won the Saturday ladies competition with 39 points ahead of Pris Freeman on 38 points. Nearest the pins were Bev Cowe on 10 and Wendy Mead on 13.

Three players tied on Sunday, Joe Wild won with 40 points after a count back to John Cameron and Art Howard. Art won nearest the pin on 8 and Joe Wild won 10.
