Teachers touch up Mojo's

The third round of the Nublu Pool and Spa Care touch footy competition kicked off last night with some very entertaining games being played.

The game between D.C's and Quicksilver was very evenly matched. With their inspirational leader out of action due to some action in the bedroom causing an injury to his ankle, the DC's players were left to hold the fort.

The Newsport connection of Sam "Fat As" Cullen (his words) and Mat "AFL" Churchill both got across the line (with Mat's first double ever).

But Quicksilver scored seven times with Geoff and Carla getting amongst the tries to take the game 7 to 4.

A few reports were that the D.C boys were much better than the week before so David Cotton may not be welcomed back.

The Raiders kept their winning ways going when they scored a win against the Oldies, running out winners 9 to 4.

The Oldies are facing an injury toll that is a huge disadvantage to them for they have five players in the injury room and it seems that they won't be back anytime soon.

The try scorers for the Raiders were Danielle, Greenie, Marty "Porka" and Andrew "The Captain" scoring two due to some great reading of the play and nabbing intercepts.

Mojo's couldn't repeat the dose this week being defeated by the Teachers 9-2.

It wasn't until the last 10 minutes that the Teachers dominated, with the game in the balance at 3 to 1 with 15 to go. But some great interchanging of passes saw Dee Virkronkarpi score in the corner and take the game away.

Jamine and Zamon Ryan scored three tries a piece and Josh Sagiba crossed for both of Mojo's tries.

Next week's games - Monday 3 October
