The Cairns Surf Life Saving Club hosted the fourth surf carnival for 2011 at Palm Cove last weekend. The carnival is normally a two day event but due to club house issues the individual and team events were all held on the Sunday.  

The far northern clubs were joined by competitors from Met Caloundra, Northcliffe, Tannum Sands and Alexandra Headland. There were some very impressive skills on display from the southern competitors, some of whom compete in the Australian Ironperson series.  

The Port Douglas team competed strongly and maintained their usual third position overall even with the extra competition.
