Cavanagh on fire at Mossman

Peter Lewis notched up his third win in as many weeks taking out the Tuesday Par event last week with +4 edging out Mal Phillips and John Cameron after a count back.

Ian Prewett won nearest the pin on 6, R Hopper on 8, Des McPherson on 10 and K Klein on 13.

The Wednesday sporter’s took on the front nine this week but no one could match Bob Hoskin with 25 points. Barry Costain was second with 23 points after a count back to Ed Sant. Bob also won nearest the pin on 8.

On Thursday the ladies played their monthly medal for September as well as hosting the ladies interclub pennants. Trish Cavanagh won the medal with a brilliant nett 64 finishing six shots clear of Shirley Carney on nett 70. Ellen Clark was third after a count back to Bev Cowe for nett 72.

Sixty-four men contested the Saturday monthly medal which was won by Des McPherson with nett 65 after a count back to Vic Dowler. Brett Jurie won the A Grade gross with 83, John Deuble won B Grade with 81 and D Byrnes won C Grade with 88.

Dennis Blake won the A Grade nett with 74, Ken Deuble won B Grade with 71 and Dave Budge on 69. Nearest the pins were John Norris on 6, C Kadic on 8, Des McPherson on 10, David Budge on 13 and Ian Steley on 17.

In the ladies' medal on Saturday Patti Graham won with nett 69 ahead of Judy McCormack and Lyn Heimann on nett 71. Nearest the pin were Bev Cowe on 6, Yvonne Addison on 8 and Trevene Page on 17.
