Wildhogs too strong for Jnr Muddies

Under 12 Douglas Cricket Muddies played a tough game against Atherton Wildhogs at Mossman High School on Saturday.

Luke Twomey captained the team and Atherton won the toss and sent the Muddies team in to bat first.

Levi Trewick and Keel Sorensen opened the batting and Levi retired on 8 from 26 balls whilst Keel was unlucky to be caught out on 9 from 20 balls.

Tully Cartwright had a great batting game with a not out score of 22, Daniel Davidson retired on 18 and Bryce Fabiani had a fantastic personal best of 16 not out.

Hugo Walker was unlucky to be run out on 8 from only 7 balls, while Ashton Davenport and Reuben Allison both made 4 each. Raine Sorensen was unlucky to be run out again this week without making a run.

Muddies scored 7/136 at the end of their 27 overs.

The Atherton team went in to bat and got off to a quick start until Tully Cartwright took the first wicket of the match followed by the second shortly thereafter with his bowling resulting in 2/20 off 3 overs.

Keel Sorensen also took a wicket with 1/12 off 3 overs, and Bryce Fabiani took the fourth wicket assisted by a catch from Hugo Walker. Bryce’s bowling figures were 1/17 off 2 overs.

Ryan Doble's bowling has improved too and although not taking a wicket bowled well with 0/8.

Atherton Wildhogs finished their 27 overs on 4/171.
