Snakes alive in Round 4 action

Friday night's a great night for basketball as this week the Cairns Taipans are on their home court against the Wollongong Hawks.

The Hawks sit second last on the ladder and with just one win to their name. In contrast the Snakes are sitting a game clear in fourth position and look to cement their spot after Round 4.

The vemon in the Snakes' outfit will be too potent for the flightless Hawks this week, and in front of a near capacity crowd at the Snake Pit, and the inclusion of big man Alex Loughton, the Taipans will prove too strong.

The Gong are having trouble at the offensive end posting a winning score, while the aggressive shooting from young guard Drewy Warren will give the home team the edge this Friday.

Game tip off is 7.30pm but as always get there early to soak up the atmosphere and the pre game entertainment that the Cairns Convention Centre offers each and every game.

Last week my tips started off pretty dodgy at best but I did finish with a flurry picking three from five. Yeah, not good but at over 50% that’s a pass in anyone's language.

This week sees five games being played and I’m going out on a limb and prediticing a 100% return.

Double Oh's predictions

Ladder leaders Perth will be far too strong for bottom of the table Adelaide
Cairns at home a gimme
New Zealand Breakers at home for the first time this year will be far too strong for Sydney all be it that the Kings were two from two last round.
The Crocs at home seem too good for the Blaze and as hard as it for me I’m saying the Crocs in this one
Woolongong plays host to the Tigers and after the hammering they will receive on Friday, the Hawks will be in no condition to win this encounter.

Take my tips for what they're worth.

Next week I will have some home game, behind the scenes pictures and maybe, just maybe, an interview with one of the Snakes.

Congratulaions to all the volunteers who help out with the junior basketball in Mossman. For those out there who may be interested the juniors play and train every Wednesday at 4pm at the indoor sports complex next to the Council chambers.

B’ball is a great way for kids to get ball handling skills and a great chance to meet new kids.

Go Snakes!

Catch you on the rebound.
